Review: Circus Mirandus by Cassie Beasley

If there was ever a book to be revered, adored as one that embraces imagination and creativity, Circus Mirandus would definitely be up on that list. As young Micah tries to keep his grandfather alive through Grandpa Ephraim’s illness, he hears wonderful stories of a magical circus. Rational though abandoned outside the gate, as a world of wonder lies within. The glorious white tiger, the beautiful flying birdwoman, the smart elephant, and, greatest of all, “The Man Who Bends Light”. Illusions and stories unfurl as Micah finds the Circus, and rushes to get Ephraim help. He does this despite the wishes of his annoying, bossy Aunt Gertrudis, who doesn’t believe in the magic of the Circus. The Lightbender owes Ephraim a miracle, but is getting a little skeptical about giving it.

Will Micah be able to save his Grandpa and learn the truth of Ephraim’s connection to the Circus? Read the book to find out. I commend heartily this book to kids around the age of 9-11. You can read more about the book here.
